Course Description

Small and unassuming, seeds hold power in their potential for new life. They have always been a foundation of food production, selected over time to survive in their environment and provide desired flavors. Today, climate change is shifting the conditions that farmers are growing in – and seeds are an important tool to adapt to the temperature swings, unpredictable rains, and extreme events that impact our world today. This lecture journeys through the role that seeds play in keeping food on our plates in an era of climate change, in the Pacific Northwest and beyond.

This  Zoom lecture is available to OLLI-UW members only.
