Course Description
The way that humans interpret, interact with, and seek out information is not always rational. We are all subject to a wide array of cognitive biases that affect the ways that we extract meaning from data, make decisions, and incorporate new information into our prior beliefs. For example, we typically think of others as having stable traits (e.g. my coworker is late because he is lazy) and ourselves as having dynamic states (e.g. I am late but it is because of unexpected traffic). This talk will discuss and demonstrate many different cognitive biases that fundamentally shape the way that we understand, process, and remember information presented to us.
